Athmic Biotech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., the Biotech Company based in Trivandrum, offers summer/winter training programs in Animal cell culture to Life science students/ scholars and teaching professionals. The entire program is co-ordinated by highly qualified professionals with research/ teaching/ industrial experience in Animal cell culture.
The program aims to provide a systematic knowledge on the various aspects of Animal cell culture; Familiarization with various types of cells, instrumentation including inverted phase contrast fluorescence microscopy, different experimentation methods and good laboratory practices (GLPs) to be followed for performing effective and contamination- free animal cell culture.
Animal cell culture requires effective hands-on experience with expert supervision for maintaining absolute accuracy to ensure hygiene and safety. We possess an innovative laboratorywith modernized equipments for providing academic and industrial hands-on training to students/ scholars undergoing various courses (BSc, MSc and PhD) in Biochemistry,Microbiology, Biotechnology and allied subjects. An experienced researcher and academic specializing in the areas of Biochemistry, Animal cell culture, Animal experiments, Toxicology, Nutritional research, Molecular Biology and other related areas. He is complemented by Doctorate in Biochemistry from the School of Biosciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala and MSc in Biochemistry from St Berchmans College, Kottayam, Kerala. Dr Abhilash is the author of more than 21 research publications, including multi-centre and multi-national publications. After completing his MSc degree, he had worked as a Guest Lecturer in Biochemistry at St. Thomas College, Palai, Kottayam, Kerala. His research career commenced with the selection as a Project fellow in a University Grants Commission (UGC) funded Major research project supervised by Dr. R Harikumaran Nair, Associate Professor in Physiology at the School of Biosciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. The Project involves experiments in Biochemistry and Toxicology with small animal models and animal cell line models. The project receives good appreciation from the UGC and he was selected by the University for doing PhD under the guidance of the same supervisor.
During his PhD, Dr Abhilash conducted in depth studies in cancer drug toxicity and the amelioration of such toxicities using natural/ nutritional products. His research spans the subject areas including Biochemistry, Animal cell culture, Animal experiments, Toxicology, Nutritional research, Molecular Biology and other associate areas. The research work was complemented with two best paper awards at national level seminars. He has guided several MSc and MPhil scholars during his PhD and has also produced research papers with them. After the completion of PhD, he had worked as an Assistant Professor in Biochemistry at the Department of Microbiology, Majlis Arts and Science College, Malappuram, Kerala. Currently he is working as Biochemist and Animal cell culture Specialist at Athmic Biotech Solutions Pvt Ltd, Trivandrum, Kerala. He is the In Charge of Animal cell culture facility at the R & D section of the company. He has conducted workshops in Animal cell culture and has guided scholars in their research works.
